Large format cameras are designed for studio use, and offer tilt/shift capabilities for perspective control, and so useful in architectural, and product photography.

Large format cameras allowed a wide range of lenses to be installed via interchangeable lens boards, several formats via interchangeable sheet film carriers, and roll film backs, and additional bellows extensions for extreme close up photography.
